Why apply graphics to your campervan?

Applying graphics and decals is a great way to personalise your vehicle. Almost every motorhome and larger van conversion built from factory will be supplied with graphic decals. They are designed to break up the lines of a vehicle which typically would be used for commercial purposes.
They immediately make a van recognisable as a campervan.
This is a really important feature for many reasons.

Firstly it shows it is not likely to be a commercial vehicle and as such allows emergency services to define the risk if ever involved in an incident. A motorhome may be carrying passengers or pets in the back, it may also be carrying LPG and large battery banks. Whilst some vehicles will choose to display an LPG sticker (which is a very good idea!) it is not a requirement. However having graphics on the side of your van which indicate that you are a motorhome will immediately alert the emergency services to the fact you will be potentially carrying passengers, batteries and LPG. If you don't already have an LPG sticker you can purchase one here.

I'm sure you will want the police to recognise you as a motorhome too, the speed limits are different in a motorhome - you can go faster! So those 'go faster' stripes can really help you go quicker!

The final consideration is that many campsites do not allow commercial vehicles onto their sites. The last thing that you want when touring is to arrive at a site late only to be turned away. The DVLA stipulates that to be classed as a motorhome the vehicle should look like a motorhome when being used on the public highway. In short, it should have windows and graphics. This is especially useful when you are changing the vehicle type from a van to a motorhome with the DVLA. Whilst we do not suggest that applying graphics will guarantee you a successful change of vehicle type we do guarantee it will certainly help your vehicle to look like a motorhome.
